Experiencing hair loss, or want to re-shape your Hair Line, we have the right option for you!

What is DHI Hair Transplant

The DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) technique is an advanced hair transplant method. It involves extracting individual hair follicles from the donor area and directly implanting them into the scalp using a specialized tool called a Choi Implanter Pen. This tool allows for precise control over the depth, angle, and direction of each hair follicle, resulting in a very natural appearance. Unlike traditional methods, DHI doesn’t require pre-made incisions, which reduces scarring and trauma to the scalp and speeds up recovery.

Benefits of DHI hair transplant

Natural Results: The precision of the DHI method allows for exact placement of hair follicles, ensuring that the transplanted hair matches the natural growth pattern, angle, and direction of the hair, resulting in a highly natural look.

Faster Recovery: The DHI hair transplant procedure is less invasive than other tecniques, resulting in patients typically experiencing a quicker recovery, meaning they can return to their normal day to day activities sooner.

Minimal Scarring:Thanks to the Choi pen's accuracy and precision, the DHI technique is a minimally invasive procedure that doesn't require pre-made incisions. This results in less trauma to the scalp and minimal scarring, making it an excellent option for those concerned about visible marks, giving you the opportunity of wearing short hairstyles wihtout visible scars.

High Graft Survival Rate: Direct implantation reduces the time follicles spend outside the body, increasing their survival rate and the overall success of the transplant. With its average succes rate being as high as around 95%

Reduced bleeding and Lower Risk of Infection: Smaller incisions result in less bleeding during the procedure and a lower risk of post-operative infections.

Procedure

Consultation and Planning: The process begins with a detailed consultation to assess the patient's hair loss, discuss expectations, and design the hairline. The surgeon determines the number of grafts needed and plans the extraction and implantation areas.

Preparation: Firstly we start of with a medical assesment and blood tests, to ensure that nothing is wrong. After the blood test results and our approval, we continue with the donor area, usually at the back of the head, where it will be shaved , and local anesthesia is applied to numb both the donor and recipient areas. Ensuring that you feel no pain

Follicle Extraction: Using a fine, specialized tool, hair follicles are extracted one by one from the donor area. This tool minimizes damage to the follicles and surrounding tissue.

Graft Preservation: The extracted hair follicles are carefully preserved in a special solution to maintain their vitality until they are implanted.

Implantation: The DHI technique uses a Choi Implanter Pen to implant the follicles directly into the recipient area. The pen allows the surgeon to control the depth, angle, and direction of each follicle for a natural-looking result. The follicles are loaded into the pen and implanted one by one without the need for pre-made incisions.

Final Adjustments: After all the follicles are implanted, the surgeon checks the overall look to ensure the hairline is even and natural.

Post Procedure care

At TrustCare, we believe that your recovery is just as important as the DHI hair transplant procedure itself. To ensure you achieve the best possible results, we provide detailed guidance and aftercare support, helping you navigate the recovery process smoothly and effectively.

Immediate Post-Operative Care

Immediately after your DHI hair transplant, your scalp will be bandaged to protect the newly implanted follicles, and you’ll receive prescription medications, including pain relievers, antibiotics, and anti-inflammatory drugs. These medications are essential for managing any discomfort, preventing infection, and reducing swelling. We will provide you with clear instructions on how to take them, ensuring your recovery starts off on the right foot.

First Hair Wash and Bandage Removal

The first hair wash is a critical step in your post-operative care. This will be performed at our clinic the day after your procedure by our expert team. During this visit, your bandages will be carefully removed, and we will cleanse the transplanted area to remove any residue. We’ll also provide you with specialized hair care products designed specifically for your recovery and show you exactly how to use them at home.

Managing Scabs and Itching

In the days following your transplant, it’s normal for small scabs to form on your scalp. These will gradually wash away by the 10th day. It’s crucial not to pick at or scratch these scabs to avoid dislodging the newly implanted hairs. Itching is common, particularly 2 to 3 days after the procedure, but we’ll provide you with anti-itch medication to help manage this discomfort and protect your results.

Protecting Your Scalp

For the first 10 days after your transplant, it’s essential to avoid any contact with your scalp. This means refraining from wearing hats, scarves, or anything that could press against your head. You should also avoid sleeping in positions that might put pressure on the transplanted area. This period is critical for ensuring the newly implanted hairs settle in properly.

Hair Growth and Shock Loss

About 20 days post-procedure, you’ll notice the transplanted hairs begin to fall out. This process, known as "shock loss," is completely natural and expected. These hairs will gradualy start to regrow permanently after around three months.

Long-Term Care and Follow-Up

Gentle Scalp Care: When washing your hair, follow the gentle methods demonstrated by our team. Avoid using harsh shampoos or rubbing your scalp vigorously.

Sun Protection: Protect your scalp from direct sunlight. We recommend wearing a loose-fitting hat or applying sunscreen when you’re outdoors, as UV exposure can harm the healing skin and affect hair growth.

Physical Activity: Refrain from engaging in strenuous physical activities, heavy lifting, or intense exercise for a few weeks post-procedure. These activities can increase blood flow to the scalp, potentially disrupting the healing process.
